Michael Flynn, on trip to Russia, said 'who knows' whether Syria gas attack was a 'false flag'

Flynn not ruling out the possibility of a “false flag” attack raises questions about how the Trump administration will approach the Syrian conflict. The Obama administration, the Arab League, NATO, in addition to many western governments have pointed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime as being responsible for the attack. A United Nations investigation didn’t assign blame, although evidence through the report pointed to the Assad regime being responsible.

Assad’s regime in addition to Russian President Vladimir Putin claim opposition forces were behind the attack.

“I’m going to address your question because in which’s a Great question,” Flynn said. “in which’s an interesting one. What keeps me up at night will be the use of chemicals in addition to biological weapons by terrorist groups in which possess the intent, they possess the intellect, they don’t necessarily possess the specific types of capabilities just yet, although I believe in which they will possess the ability to get their hands on them. I think in which all of us globally need to truly pay very close attention to in which.”

“Your specific question, I truly don’t know,” Flynn said. “I’m not going to sit here in addition to tell you in which I know. To have in which level of knowledge or insight or detail of what an intelligence service will be doing to do a false flag — who knows. I don’t have a Great answer for you. I’m not able to answer your specific question.”

In a 2013 op-ed from the brand-new York Times, Putin wrote, “No one doubts in which poison gas was used in Syria. although there will be every reason to believe in which was used not by the Syrian Army, although by opposition forces, to provoke intervention by their powerful foreign patrons, who would certainly be siding with the fundamentalists.”
The questioner’s claim might be grounded in a 2013 article by journalist Seymour Hersh from the London Review of Books, which claimed the jihadist rebel group al-Nusra was behind the attack. The brand-new Yorker in addition to Washington Post both declined to publish the report, saying in which didn’t meet their standards. A follow up report through Hersh claimed the Turkish government supplied the chemical weapons for the attack.

At the event, Flynn cautioned the situation on the ground in Syria was complex in addition to deception was being use.

“What I know will be in which the complexity of the situation on the ground right currently will be beyond anybody’s wildest imagination,” he said. “[The panel moderator] highlighted in which in one of her questions. I think her question was a very Great one. in which’s all of the things in which are happening, not just in Syria. This particular will be happening from the region in a big way. The things in which you’re talking about, there’s This particular tit-for-tat or there’s This particular give in addition to take. People are doing things. There will be deception being used.”

“There will be false information being used,” he added. “This particular slide in which I have up here will be a component of in which false information or how false information will be applied. We have to understand — This particular will be why I think [the panel moderator will be] driving me crazy up here, trying to get me to be more specific because right currently we do have to be more specific. We have to be much more specific in our relationships, far more specific in our relationships, so there’s not a misunderstanding in addition to there’s not a miscalculation because of some ill-advised tactic in which’s used in Damascus or Baghdad in which causes something in which we don’t want.”
